"Happy Thought" hits the chart

"Happy Thought", the second American single released off Chris' IMA nominated country album "Western Stars" has continued to climb the Music Row CountryBreakout Chart landing at #77 this week.

This week's farm report...

According to Ron Hays yesterday, Director of Farm Programming for the Radio Oklahoma Network, US Beef clearly outperformed the total market in Japan. Great news but unfortunately, "Dirt Rich", which blew onto the Music Row CountryBreakout Chart last week as the week's biggest debut, features the one cow we can't eat! (buy the song on Itunes right now and you can hear the whole story!)

Thanks to all the Radio PD's and Jocks who have big patience and bigger cajones to spin songs they like, even if they don't come from a big money label.

In other news, "Cow or Cowboy", (same writer different cow...) one of the next upcoming singles off "Western Stars", is being tested in Europe where it is currently up to #6 in it's second week on the CMR Nashville top 40 chart thanks to the support of wonderful people like Marie Crichton at the BBC. Can't wait to put together a European tour. If you are reading this Toby Keith, I will also wash the bus and buy drinks.

The IMA (Independent Music Awards) judges announce the overall winner out of the five nominees for best country album in 3 days (Tues Jan 26). There are some amazing artists in there with me so it is anybody's game. Also, there is a "Vox Pop" category where you can listen to a sample of each album and vote. Also, "Dirt Rich" jumped another 10 spots yesterday to #77 out of 225 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart. Another 2 spots and it is on the big boy's page. Thank you to Music Row reporting station PD's and jocks for supporting a song about a happy farmer with a blown tranny!

Western Stars

Wow! What a great week for "Western Stars"! "Your Son", the last song on the album, is a finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition. Visit Songwriting.net

Last night, the nominees were announced for the IMA Awards (Independent Music Awards). "Western Stars" is one of the five nominees for best country. The winner is announced in January. There is a people's choice vote as well that goes until june so if you get a chance go in and vote. Visit Independentmusicawards.com

NFR is in town so that means I have to beat this flu today and rally to the Rodeo! We are boarding some of the NFR horses here at the ranch so I guess I better get out there and feed 'em.
